Felted

STRIP #113
Before I talk about the strip, let me first tell you that +EV finally has an RSS FEED. Or at least I'm told that this works for most people. I've received dozens of requests for this, so here it is!

CLICK HERE FOR THE +EV RSS FEED!

About today's comic: I like it! And I think Wednesday's upcoming strip is good too. Got a nice little Harold storyline going, although it's not just a storyline, since he'll be staying for a good while now. Gonna be fun when the WSOP strips start up. By the way, for those who don't know, to felt someone is to bust them, meaning all they have left in front of them is the felt of the poker table (no chips).

Had a fun +EV tourney yesterday, with ryanto32792 busting me for the bounty and also winning the event and the comic book that goes along with it!

Disturbing Dream #6: Clancy's Revenge

STRIP #106
Happy Friday the 13th!

I just had a very frustrating experience in the $20K guaranteed $100+9 on PokerStars. Long story short, top 36 paid and I got past the money bubble with an above average stack, then my pocket tens ran into pocket jacks to knock me down to like seven big blinds, then I go all-in with my A5 vs. 56 and the flop comes 2 3 4. I flop the second nuts while he flops the nuts. Out in 32nd for a profit of $63, while the guy with 56 goes on to win the whole thing for $8,625. Sums up my poker career pretty well.

Don't miss Sunday's 29th +EV tourney! $5 buy-in, $5 bounty on my head, winner gets their choice of the +EV comic books! Click here for tournament details! To buy the comics, click here for more info and to order through PayPal, or if you'd like to pay through a PokerStars transfer, e-mail me your country and I'll give you the total cost.

And hey, you should check out the Midnight Poker Forums, a fun community with private bounty tournaments.

Best Bad Beat Story Ever

STRIP #105
I like this one, and I have to give credit to Keith (kwdidion from the PokerXFactor forums) for the final line. I met up with him and some other PXF subscribers in Vegas (four hour drive) a few weeks ago to play some poker and after he busted out of a tourney at the Sahara, he said Violet's final line, or close enough at least.

Speaking of PokerXFactor, I finished third (out of 231) in their monthly subscriber tournament on Monday night, after being the chip leader for most of the final table. I took a bad beat of my own (A9 vs. K4, all-in pre-flop) when it was 3-handed to cripple me, then lost to the same person with my K4 vs. his AT to bust out. Badly wanted to win that one and felt it was my time. It's my new best finish in the montly PXF tourney after having finished fourth in September, where I busted in a similar fashion, as I recall.

If you'd like to see the animated hand history of Monday's tourney, click here. You'll have to sign up for a FREE PokerXFactor account to see it. I had some very cool stats for the tourney, like this one: I saw only 40 flops, but won 89 hands, including winning 68 of those pre-flop. Gotta be the first time I've ever won more than twice as many hands as flops seen. It used to be a goal of mine for every tournament to win more hands than flops seen, but I never thought I'd be able to win TWICE as many.

Backdooring Cowboys

STRIP #102
For those who don't know, backdoor means the turn and river and kings are also called cowboys. This strip is based on a real life event from last year when I was playing $2/5 NL at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I wasn't in the pot, but two guys got all-in on the flop and one of them needed running kings to win and the dealer said he'd have to "backdoor a couple cowboys" and everyone started laughing. A little later at the same table someone needed running deuces and the dealer said he needed to "backdoor a couple ducks," which brought more laughs. I believe the dealer's name was Oren, so thanks, Oren!
