Wide Range
STRIP #74
Wikipedia's poker terms page defines Hollywood as: "Overt acting to deceive other players. Karl had a big smile when he bet, but it seemed too Hollywood to me, so I called anyway. Also refers to taking excessive time to act — a common suspense-building feature of movies which highly irritates other players when carried out in real life." Clancy's the best.
There's a really good interview with Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke on PocketFives right now that I suggest you all check out.
Had another fun +EV tourney on Sunday. It was HORSE this week, and SurfChix knocked me out on the bubble for the bounty and smallSEK won the tournament and the comic book that goes along with it.
Oh, and you can now comment again directly to these posts below. Too many spammers in the forums.

Scarlett's Future
STRIP #72
I love this one! It's sad to know that Scarlett will get eaten by zombies, but at least we now know when the strip will end, since I doubt it could continue after that. She's 16 when she gets eaten by the zombies, by the way, so we've got a good 10 years left of +EV.

Unluckiest Guy Ever
STRIP #71
There are a lot of morons like Corbin who whine about not making more money when they're already living the easy life. I wish he got beat up even more! My brother Chris wrote most of this strip when I was struggling to think of anything good. I like it.
Had another fun +EV tourney on Sunday, with jc73insd winning the bounty on my head and his brother alpendog taking home first place and the comic book! He also became the first two-time +EV champ in the 17 weeks of the event, and since he already won the first issue, he'll receive the second issue, which was just sent to the printers yesterday!

Clancy's Favorite Player
STRIP #70
I hate Clancy.
Been tracking the progress of Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke at the Aussie Millions all night. He's a +EV fan (even bought a book!) and he's now heads up for the title in Australia against Gus Hansen! First place is $1.5 million AUD, which is over $1 million US. Go Gobbo go! EDIT: Gobboboy finishes second for $1 million AUD. Congratulations!

Poker After Dark
STRIP #68
For those of you who don't know, he's talking about the new late night poker show on NBC called "Poker After Dark." Click the title for more info and to see Shana Hiatt, the host of the show. I'm looking forward to this week's series of shows with Jamie Gold and company almost as much as Corbin is. Should be great. It's a really good show. You see almost every single hand in the tourney and hear lots of interesting table talk.
Congratulations to PureBudz for winning the 16th +EV tourney on Sunday and the comic book that goes along with it. He became the 16th different winner in 16 weeks -- pretty crazy. And I still haven't won it! Nope, got busted again this week, this time by psl86, who won the $5 bounty on my head. This week had the most players ever -- 29. Looking to top 30 next Sunday!

Green M&M's
STRIP #67
I like today's strip, but I couldn't think of a good line to end it with. Tried several different ones, but none of them worked well. Maybe I'll change it a year from now if I ever think of a good one! Also, click here if you want to read more about the power of green M&M's. My history with them is from a commercial they ran in the '80s, set around a little league game, where they explained that the green M&M's make you hit home runs. They make you suck out in poker too. Oh, and my favorite part of this strip is that Dolly (the cat) is also eating a green M&M.
Oh, and I haven't played much poker in the past week, but I did make a final table in a $20 Stud Hi/Low tourney, and I cashed (12th) in the first 5-Card Draw tournament that I've ever played, also a $20 buy-in. Fun game, 5-Card Draw. So different when you don't know what the nuts are (well, royal flush!).

Kiddie Game's Down the Street
STRIP #66
I like today's strip a lot for some reason, especially the third panel. Mike Matusow often tells his opponents that "The kiddie game's down the street!" and points dramatically, usually after he shows a big bluff. So this comic is a play on that.

Changing Gears
STRIP #65
Today's strip isn't good! Just one more with Matusow on Wednesday, but I like that one.
Adam Junglen, who appeared in this +EV strip, played in his first World Poker Tour event this weekend in the Bahamas, and he busted out near the end of Day 1 on a pretty disgusting hand. Here's what he looked like in happier times before busting, and click here to read about his tournament in his blog.

New Neighbor
STRIP #64
Yes, Mike Matusow is their new neighbor, and he'll be appearing in Monday's strip! Just a short storyline here about The Mouth, probably only lasting three comics, ending on Wednesday. For anyone who doesn't know, Matusow is a great live player who has made millions in big tournaments, but he's struggled online, losing lots in cash games, and there's a famous rumor about him once throwing his laptop into a pool from a hotel balcony after a big losing session. Hence today's strip.

Beautiful Tunica, Mississippi
STRIP #63
I wonder if Tunica really is beautiful. I'll have to go there one day! For those of you who aren't sure, all three of those places are holding major poker tournaments soon. And Violet is reffering to their Aruba trip. I really like Corbin's expression in the second panel. Very Australian looking.
I just finished 7th in what I think is the first Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Low MTT that I've ever played. It's my 8th final table since December 10. It was a $50+5 buy-in with just 85 players and I got $233.75 for 7th. Also, on a crazy whim last night I played a $100+5 heads up Omaha Hi/Low SNG (fixed limit) against a great player named tooothy, who had won at least eight straight heads up SNGs prior to that (thanks, Sharkscope.com), and I beat him! Really liking Omaha Hi/Low now.

Happy New Year!
STRIP #62
Poor Corbin. I'll blame Violet's attitude on being pregnant. I'd like to thank +EV fan Sanna for suggesting the basic premise of this strip (New Year's party where Violet wins a tourney).
Sunday's 14th +EV tourney was a lot of fun. Alpendog busted me out in third for the $5 bounty and then he beat his own real life brother (jc73insd) heads up to win the tourney and the comic book!
In the last couple days I've played some single table sit-and-go's, something I rarely do, and I've had a lot of success. I've played 21, all on PokerStars, all turbos, 13 $25+2s and 8 $32+3s. I've cashed in 12 of 21, including 4 wins, 5 seconds and 3 thirds. Hopefully I can keep that up in 2007!
