Congress at Work

STRIP #33
I like today's comic. The idea of a Congressman who had voted for the ban playing online poker himself was suggested to me by L8Bloomer during the +EV private tournament on Sunday. And hey, don't forget to play in the next +EV tourney! Please visit this thread in the forums for all the details.

Aww... and I was hoping it was an accidental death threat joke.

Another classic... I bet the congressman just had to move from Party to Stars and is being slaughtered like all the other donks... deep in a couple tourneys - most likely play chips I reckon.

Keep up the good work!

Sean, it probably was a death threat. That's why the staffer wanted the Congressman to read it so much.

Written sloppily in crayon and chicken blood then? Say... liberals talked about moving to Canada after the '04 election, what about libertarians now?

What about them? Shouldn't they always want to move to Canada? And yeah, crayons and chicken blood sounds about right. Corbin's a pretty insane guy, based on his dreams at least.

Actually the libertarian exodus was just a sorta comic concept thingy is all... please! Stop glowering at me with your golden avatar! *cowers in the corner and folds pocket kings*

You better fold pocket kings against Harold! He ALWAYS has aces, and usually picks up two more on the flop. That's pretty much how he won the WPT event in Los Angeles, since he actually sucks at poker.

Waldo, I specifically said that Friday's was horrible many times, and that was the first of the last three. Then I love Monday's comic because I'm insane, but there are many other insane people apparently, since that strip got the best reader reaction so far in the forums. Humor is subjective. And I think today's works well and I've heard a lot of positive comments about it already.

will we be able to buy the comic book, or is the only way to get it through donkament bounties?

You will be able to buy it, yes! Probably $4 or $5 for each 24-page issue. First one coming out in 2-3 weeks. I will be giving many away as prizes for various things, though, like even for suggesting an idea for a strip that I use.

Also, the comic book prize actually wasn't for a bounty, but for winning the whole tournament (only about 20 players usually). The bounty is getting your $11 buy-in back.

I can tell you haven't been reading comics online long if you're yet another person complaining about "copy/paste" jobs.

Please tell me what led you to believe that I haven't been playing poker long. I'd love to debate any poker related topic with you.

Ooohhh!! Famous Crosby bitchfit coming on! Stand back and watch the flames and twisted words!!

Couldn't even leave a positive write up alone. How long until you start pissing of your artist and blaming everything on everyone else?

Please explain everything you just said. "Couldn't even leave a positive write up alone." What does that mean? What are you referring to? And I've never had an artist before, so there's obviously no history there you could be talking about, and I've never "blamed" anything comic related on anyone else -- how could I when I did every single thing on "Pupkin"? It's people like you who have "bitchfits," not me.

And if you think that I'm "blaming" the copying and pasting on the artist, I'm doing nothing of the sort -- I'm explaining that it's what most of the best liked comics on the web do, which makes it perfectly acceptable in my mind, and there's very little of that in "+EV" as compared to most of them.

refering to your flame wars with other artists/creators, Keenspot BS, and the fact that you had a very nice write up on Comixpedia and had to snip away at it correcting "details" and sounding like a chump. GG you.

Try not to cry.

That doesn't answer my questions at all. You made it sound like I've blamed my comics on other people before, which I've never done. You're right that Keenspot is BS, though, that's for sure. And apparently you couldn't understand the comment I made to the Comixpedia article. The writer, who I've also fought with in the past in those "flame wars," made it sound like it didn't make any sense to him that the writing is better in "+EV" than in "Pupkin," so I explained it to him. Nothing wrong with that obviously.
