Justifying Purchases

STRIP #196
For those who don't know, Andy Beal is the billionaire who challenged the top pros in the highest stakes cash games ever, including $100K/200K LHE, where a big blind was worth a fancy sports car (and a small blind was worth a less fancy sports car). Corbin never played with him, of course, but he's just trying to get Violet to agree to buying the car. I haven't played many cash games lately, but I often did the same thing when I was, equating all purchases to how many big blinds or buy-ins they were, based on whatever stakes I was playing at the time. It can really make you spend a lot more than you should on things if you're an idiot like me and Corbin!

This is the best +ev in a long time. As a poker player I can really understand the need to sometimes compare prices to buy-ins etc.

It's easy for a poker player to create a distorted value of money in his/her mind. A great strip anyways.

They're also wearing different clothes in every panel and his bankroll is increasing in every panel. This strip takes place over the course of like two years.
